How we created Bergin Motion

Floor Plan Revisions

After waiting out the beginning of the pandemic, we decided it was time to move forward. We considered more than 300 locations and visited over 40, before we finally decided on one location. It was the only location that truly fit all of our criteria and was the first that actually felt right. We wanted a big building to ensure a large open space for optimal rehab. We now own the lease on a unit of over 9000 sqft.

November 30th, 2020 – First Day of Demolition

After a long long process of drawing and plans submission, we finally got the go ahead for demolition and construction. First day of demolition was an exciting day, as it marked the day our dream clinic was coming alive. 

November 30th, 2020 – January 31st, 2021

Construction Continues

There was a big push over these two months to finish construction and transform the space. We are now in the final stages of completing the build out and it looks better than ever. Below you can see some various pictures of the progress.

February 2021 – Finishing Construction

Construction of Bergin Motion was coming to an end. The finishing touches we’re being completed both by our team of contractors from Quik Solutions and the Bergin Motion team. We decided to add our own touch, installing the gym flooring as a team. This was an exciting time as we were seeing our vision come together. The wall signs were being installed, walls were being painted, the kitchen was being installed. This was all going on while we waited for final clearance from the City of Barrie, patience was needed while we waited for a delayed process during a lockdown.

March 5th, 2021 – First Day Open!!

After receiving our occupancy permit on March 4th, 2021, we opened our doors to clients. The opening was quick and quiet as we already had an established client base. The opening was during a lockdown here in Ontario, so no big grand opening with balloons but a subtle start to the operation. We were beyond excited to start.

We started the clinic with many of the physios working part-time at other clinics. Our goal was to build the case loads and slowly transfer all physios the full time as we expanded. Growth happen quicker than we thought as people in the industry welcomed us with open arms. Through the summer we continued to grow and add to the clinic to allow for better services.

Mistakes were made and will continue to be made, but that is the beautiful part of the process. The clinic will always be evolving and we will continue to enjoy the process.
